Hello there 🙂

Our beauty editors choose a Holy Grail product from each.

There are many fun and exciting components to being a beauty editor, but as much as we love sitting at our desks and trying the latest and greatest to reach our beauty closet, there is definitely more action in ours Everyday life. Recently my Who What Wear Beauty P.I.C. Courtney Higgs and I met in a meeting about the most important beauty trends, products and brands from the previous quarter. (Aka – late 2019), and we noticed a pretty interesting list – the 20 best-selling skincare brands ranked by sale. As skin care obsessed beauty editors, we were interested to see which brands hoard and love WWW readers, and we immediately started discussing our favorite brands from the list of cult favorite products we love (and some we don't love) , what brands have not made the list, so on and so on. Inspired, we decided to turn the conversation into a guide that included the 20 best skin care brands and the one (yes, only one!) Product Courtney and I would each buy. Curious which products made the cut? Scroll on! All of our must-haves and recommendations are right in front of us.

Hydrating is by far my top priority in skin care at this stage of my life. Therefore hyaluronic acid is an ingredient that I look for before anyone else. Besides water, it's really my favorite substance on earth. There are rally-priced HA serums, but I think it's great that The Ordinary is so affordable, so pure, and so effective.

As someone who consistently deals with congestion and breakouts, a weekly peeling treatment is essential. Entertaining fact: my mother and I love this affordable peel from The Ordinary – it contains a mixture of cell-releasing AHAs and BHAs (made of lactic, glycolic and salicylic acids) that make my skin look smoother, more radiant and more radiant.

This little bottle contains two of my favorite forms of makeup remover: micelle water and oil. I think it's great that it's double cleaning in a bottle – although I always use a traditional detergent after using it.

To be completely transparent, I definitely prefer Glossier's makeup selection to skin care. (Lash Slick is the best mascara ever made.) Still, Balm Dotcom is one of the brand's most popular products, and I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't keep a tube of this shimmering birthday cake on my makeup bag at all times. I also appreciate that it doesn't contain coconut oil (like so many lip products do today!) Because it keeps breaking out the skin around my lips.

I know that makeup wipes are really bad for the planet, but I just love them! I'm working on it, OK?

Ask a facial doctor and they'll tell you how good light therapy is for your skin, especially if you're someone like me who has acne and stubborn scars. I would buy this affordable handheld device right away!

Marula oil is one of my favorites to seal the quality of my remaining skin care. I dab this luxury oil on my face a few times a week as the last step in my nightly routine.

I keep my skin care routine fairly simple, but I love experimenting with different types of masks. This is one of the brand's best-known products and basically like a facial in a bottle – think of a lighter, firmer and smoother skin in just 20 minutes.

I am not using this religiously at the moment, but it will always have a special place in my heart. It's one of the thickest and most moisturizing creams I've ever used.

I know you're tired of hearing about my acne prone skin, but as someone who has tried a shipload of spot treatments, these microtip plasters are one of the few overnight solutions that actually helped with bumps at the top ,

I recently committed to using eye cream daily (actually twice a day), and this was one of the first options I took seriously. I implicitly trust the brand at this point so that I could get rid of my skepticism about this particular category.

Like pretty much everyone, I was a longtime fan of Bioderma's beloved micelle water. (They're best for removing makeup – even for the most stubborn waterproof eyeliner or the most stubborn mascara!) However, the Sébium version of the brand is more strategic for someone like me with acne-prone skin because it is not comedogenic and contains special ingredients such as zinc and copper to tighten and detoxify the skin.

Everyone who knows me knows that I have a good facial mist. This is one of my favorites. Apart from the fact that it contains a lot of good ingredients like red algae and squalene, I think it's great how fine the mist is and that it doesn't bother your make-up when you inject at noon.

This handy stick is brand new from Tatcha and quickly made it to the top of my favorites list. (I don't get on a plane without it!) It is basically a solidified serum with nice ingredients like moisturizing squalane and Japanese lemon balm. If you are prone to dryness or scaly patches, this is the perfect antidote.

I cannot stress enough how much I LOVE this modeling mask. It is seriously my favorite Sunday skin care ritual to soothe my skin and reveal the plumpest, wettest version of my face. I wish I could bathe in this stuff.

Prominent beautician Shani Darden told me to start using these anti-aging peels once or twice a week, and the frequency of my breakouts has definitely decreased since then. I absolutely hate traveling with a lot of skin care products so I think it's great that I can throw a few of them in my pocket to use them anytime, anywhere.

There are many face sunscreens on the market that don't appear spooky or pale on brown skin, but that hasn't always been the case. For a long time, EltaMD was one of the few brands that offered really transparent sun protection for the face. Apart from being one of the first black women to feel good, she is still one of the best.

The same goes for! This is the only sunscreen I have touched on my face and is probably the most trusted by the most trusted facials and dermatologists. There is also a tinted version, but I like the normal one! It looks great under makeup, doesn't pill, doesn't clog my pores, and even has a high dose of hyaluronic acid to keep my face balanced and hydrated.

Although this is no longer very common in my routine (it was one of my cleaners in college), I would still have no hesitation in reaching for it if I found myself on a trip without detergent or something.

I am someone who always wears self-tanners and – which is fun – uses too many oils on my skin to remove the color faster and contribute to stains and uneven fading. I keep this oil-free, hyaluronic acid-rich lotion on my washstand for immediate use after a shower. My skin remains free of flakes and dandruff, and my tan lasts so much longer than when I use my supply of body oils or rich, oil-enriched creams.

I know people really love the lip version of this mask (ahem, Erin), but this all-over face mask is really the move in my opinion.

I keep the vanilla version of this lip mask on my bedside table and apply a thick layer about 15 minutes before turning off the light. It soaks every dryness with lasting moisture, it smells DELICIOUS and when I wake up, my lips are noticeably hydrated and plump. It's a bit sticky, but since it's an overnight treatment, I don't mind.

Skin care in the French pharmacy is generally a real treat, but this sunscreen is really one of my favorites for all sunscreen.

Without a doubt, this is the best detergent for drug stores for people with oily or acne-prone skin. I panicked once when I was traveling because the detergent I had packed caused a lot of whiteheads. Eek! However, after cleaning with this formula two or three times, my skin showed good behavior again. It’s really wonderful. However, it is strong, so I would only use it a few nights a week and alternate it with a moisturizing, gentle formula.

Makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes inspired me to get creative with this multi-purpose balm. Instead of just tapping on dry lips and blotchy skin, I now apply it to my cheeks and eyelids to achieve a super editorial gloss.

Weleda is famous for skinfood (which is indeed super wonderful), but I was really excited about the brand's new clarifying line and especially this oil balancing facial lotion. It contains great ingredients like willow bark, witch hazel and licorice root that work together to tighten the skin, cleanse the pores and infuse the skin with antioxidants and other glow enhancers.

Although I don't use this retinol cream regularly (I'm very careful with the amount of peels I use on my face at any given time), I've always been impressed with the Amazon fame that this cream has achieved. It currently has over 8,000 reviews, which is just wild.

LilyAna is one of the retailer's best-selling skin care brands on Amazon. I haven't tried any of their organic formulas yet, but since I'm obsessed with eye creams, I have that anti-aging number in mind. MVP ingredients include rosehip seed oil, organic hibiscus flower extract, and vitamins C and E. Sounds dreamy, doesn't it?

I love a good cooling clay mask when I feel like my skin is getting greasy or my clogs appear unusually enlarged. I'm not crazy about this, maybe because I don't mind seeing a little pore, but when I use it, my face feels so squeaky clean afterwards.

I can count on my hand how many foundations I really like and how I apply them before makeup, and this skin toning and lightening formula from Ole is one of them. (I also love the Banana Bright Eye Cream!) You can wear this foundation alone or in front of your concealer and foundation. It contains all kinds of skin-loving additives such as vitamins C and E as well as luminous pigments that are inspired by long-standing trade secret, banana powder.

I am one of those who cover every inch of my body with lotion every day, and I like this one from Cetaphil because it is cheap and has no fragrance that would compete with my fragrance du jour.

That may seem strange, but I'm someone who always has a bar of soap in my bathroom, and it's the only thing I've used to wash my makeup brushes! So many brush cleaners have strange ingredients or oils that ultimately clog my pores. So I trust Cetpahil's no-frills formula to do the job instead. I also keep a bar in the shower!

I am not strict in the use of toners or essences every day, but I really love this caudalie. I honestly love everything the brand does, but this essence visibly balances the tone and texture of my skin and gives it a little sheen whenever I need it.

I will say it simply – every single beauty lover should own this product from the French skin care brand Caudalíe. I use it around the clock and am addicted to the smell, the super fine spray and the way my skin immediately looks more radiant and healthier.

I am so easy for this one, I know. But putting a swab of this pink dry lotion on a cit is like wrapping yourself in a nostalgic blanket. Can't stop, won't stop.

I'm damn obsessed with this lavender elixir by Mario Badescu. I feel like some of the other formulas are getting more love, but this soothing blend of chamomile, lavender and aloe is what my sensitive skin craves. I love spraying my beauty blender with it (before AND during use) to give my face a little more TLC and moisture.

Say what you want about Riley Sunday, but the products work. This retinol sleep oil is one of the products that have done the most to get my skin back on track after an attack of cystic acne in my mid-twenties that has left my skin structures and scars.

This eye cream is magical in a bottle if you're someone who deals with dark circles and every level of eye shadow. It looks fantastic under concealer or alone for days without makeup and thanks to the blend of caffeine, mica and other botanicals, it basically acts like an IRL filter for your face. I've used it for years and still can't shut up.

Castor oil is my secret hair growth weapon. The delicate hair around my hairline and eyebrows are regularly covered with the stuff.

I wanted to love so many eyelash and brow boosting serums, but my eyes are extremely sensitive and usually end up red, fluid, and all around miserable. This formula is one of Amazon's best-selling beauty products and uses safe, natural ingredients. It is also vegan and cruelty free. Next, I never thought I would love organic makeup products until I found these 10 products
