With concern about the proliferation of COVID-19, many of us who are able to work from home work to promote social distancing. At Who What Wear, our editors have signed up for duty from home. Instead of getting dressed for the office, we put together outfits to dial in to video chats (Today was our hat motif) and work remotely. As inspiration, I asked our team to take photos of their looks. Although it may seem trivial to think about outfits during a global pandemic, I was personally looking forward to fashion. It gives me a moment of ease and creativity and a distraction from the news.
So what fits the work from home? Who carry the editors? From sweatpants to baggy jeans to cozy cardigans, our team has a few looks that are the perfect combination of comfortable and chic.
While wearing sweatpants for a few days, I found it motivating to dress in something closer to what I would normally wear in the office, also known as jeans and button-up. But to stay comfortable, I wore loose fitting jeans like this 90s-inspired style that feels like pajamas.
"These LeSet pants are my first choice for long-haul flights, so of course they're a staple for WFH. I think it's great that they have a high waist and there is a matching cardigan! That seemed to be an exclamation point." During this time, I worked with the window open to feel connected to the outside world. A double layer (turtleneck sweater and button-down) helps to ward off the cold. "
"I work from home all day, but since WFH outfits are such a hot topic right now, I've tried to make it a little better." I'm a big fan of Alo's lounge sets and you can't see it, but it's worth noting that I'm wearing a Leopard-print Ganni scrunchie. "
“This is a combination of my WFH look and my daily (short and isolated) fit. The name of the game is comfort, so I wear my favorite sweatshirt with stretch pants and my new balances. "
"Tie-dye is an inherently mood-boosting print, so this oversized t-shirt was crucial to maintaining my mood during WFH. Every time I catch a look in the mirror, it makes me smile. I have it paired with bike shorts and golden tires to tie my hippie chic together a bit. "
"I found that taking off my pajamas – even when I'm just a few feet from my bed – can work wonders if I'm motivated and energized during WFH. I picked up very oversized pants that were just as forgiving is like any other. " My sweat, stuck in my favorite bodysuit and rounded off with a shrunk cardigan, because I still want to dress in the trend, even if it's just for myself. Oh, and cozy slippers – that's the luxury that I have at home. I always look forward to getting dressed at the end of a long day, and now I'm wearing it around the clock. "
"There is nothing I love more than an oversized shirt when I work from home. It is comfortable and in the rare cases that I need to slip outside for something, I can just put on some leggings underneath! "
"My attempt to do business at the top, but WFH at the bottom. These pants are made from light cotton and are as cozy as pj pants! Both items from Lacausa!"
"When I do WFH, it's all about a comfortable matching set. This bare cashmere set feels (and looks) seriously luxurious – perfect if I want to feel like I have at least put a little effort into virtual meetings have!"
"At the moment it's all about tracksuits – especially in a trendy oatmeal shade – so I'm basically living in this set at the moment. This combination with comfortable socks is a win in my book."
"Since the work in my pajamas is not productive, I choose a WFH outfit that is just as comfortable but motivates me to get things done. My favorite Reformation sweatshirt, Zella leggings and Ugg slippers are mine first choice balance between comfort and structure. I also wear a sports bra under the sweatshirt so that I can go straight to a small workout at home after work. And yes, Sex and the City 2 is in the background because we could all use something to cheer ourselves up. "
"I'm not going to lie: I'm obsessed with sweat and would wear a hoodie and leggings around the clock if I could. That means I've noticed that I always feel better when I'm wearing something fancier – even if it is is still lazy and cozy. My apartment is always either super hot or super cold, so I like to combine basics like this top and these shorts by Inamorata. (When it gets cold, I just put on a big cardigan or even a black denim jacket .) I'm obsessed with slippers and lean into the Ugg moment that just happens. And I always have my Quay blue light goggles on hand! At night it's easier for me to fall asleep when I'm busy doing most of it of the day. "
