Hello there 🙂

The fashion month's train is chugging in Paris, but it's time to delve deeply into everything we saw at Milan Fashion Week. Italian brands have been more vibrant lately than ever, largely thanks to Daniel Lee's magical touch at Bottega Veneta, Silvia Fendi's new position at Fendi after the death of Karl Lagerfeld and Raf Simons' news at Prada. As expected, all these brands have left the park this season and set the bar high for autumn 2020.

While browsing runway images, we noticed several topics that could not be ignored. First: edge. The detail has been seen on both clothing and accessories at Bottega Veneta, Jil Sander, Prada and many other heavyweights. Dresses and skirts looked like they were going through a paper shredder in the coolest way. We also noticed five other trends at the Milan Fashion Week shows. Scroll down to shop everyone.

If you still associate Rand with Coachella, it's high time to rethink the trend. Fringe details were found in a variety of ways by almost all major Italian designers, including dresses, skirts and bags.

Double the edge, double the fun. At Bottega Veneta, Daniel Lee undertook to set a large margin. Given that his quilted bags and shoes from previous seasons are among the most sought after designer items, it is only a matter of time before these fringe accessories are sold out.

This Jil Sander dress is designed for the red carpet. Why should you turn fringe into an accessory when you can wear it from head to toe?

This Prada look killed two birds with one stone: it touched both the belt jacket trend and the fringed look du jour.

Ladies and gentlemen, can we turn your attention to your neck? This season, Italian brands were all about statement collars with vintage flair.

Alberta Ferretti's collars were flaky and decorated with bows. The frills give an otherwise nasty leather outfit a touch of romance.

Is it just me or is this Moschino collar very George Washington?

Gucci's interpretation of the collar trend included this exaggerated Peter Pan collar with cute ruffled edges.

If you want to do something on your jacket, blazer or coat in autumn and winter 2020, tighten it with a belt at the waist. The trendy accessory gives oversized and swollen tops a flattering silhouette and gives every outfit a touch of sophistication.

Prada was dominated by belts of all shapes, seen over swollen jackets and elegant blazers.

At Versace, the accessory was elegant and simple and created an hourglass silhouette on broad blazers from the 80s.

At Alberta Ferretti belts give casual jackets a touch of elegance in cold weather.

The runway shows in Milan confirmed that the leather trend for F / W 20 will continue. There were many multi-layered leather looks, leather separates and matching sets in rich and versatile black, beige and brown tones. Many showed interesting silhouettes, from puffy sleeves to laced waists.

Alberta Ferretti demonstrated the power of a completely black leather outfit. Its leather look exudes a feeling inspired by the 80s, is knotted at the waist and accented with golden accessories, which shows us that black leather is anything but boring.

Jil Sander gave the luxurious-looking fabric a refreshingly modern touch with strong balloon sleeves, wide-leg trousers and a rich chocolate color.

Fendi inspired us with light brown leather from head to toe with matching boots and a bag.

Dramatic statement sleeves of all shapes, forms and fabrics could be seen on the Milan airstrips, including ruffles and balloon sleeves. Puff sleeves in particular made a bold and refreshing impression on coats, jackets and blazers that arch a little lower on the shoulder and radiate a romantic and contemporary interpretation of the trend that has been strong for several seasons.

When it came to puffed sleeves at Fendi, the motto was: the bigger the better.

Max Mara's sleeve play was strong. Romantic, gathered puffy sleeves were visible on coats, jackets, blouses and blazers.

There is nothing like an exaggerated balloon envelope to reinforce an LBD.

Move, beige; Gray has a big moment for F / W 20. The neutral color dominated the runways from head to toe and was available in different fabrics, lengths and silhouettes, from suits to chunky knits to eye-catching coats. The key to the tonal look is to mix different shades (and fabrics) in your ensemble, from darker shades of ash to lighter heather colors.

On the Dolce & Gabbana runway, there were chunky gray knitwear alongside smoky checks, tweed and pinstripes.

Gray came in the form of eye-catching suits and tailored items that were layered under coats and rounded off with casual suede boots.

At Max Mara, different shades of gray were mixed and matched, including interesting details such as ruffled sleeves and plush fabrics.

Next up are the five most important new trends from London.
