I'll just come out and say it Everyone has been praising my skin lately. My employees, random people in the supermarket, my friends and family – everyone. Although I have never dealt with major skin problems like acne, I have never considered myself as someone with special problems Good Skin (whatever that means). My skin has always been dry and like many colored women I have dealt with my fair share of persistent hyperpigmentation. The sudden influx of compliments was not only a nice little boost for my new 30-year-old ego, but also proof of my current skin care routine, which I have perfected over the course of several months.
As a beauty editor, I have access to every product under the sun. But since last fall, I felt that my skin had just lost something. When I think back, it makes sense since a lot has happened at the time. I had moved, turned 30, got engaged, made an important professional move within a few months, and although each of these life developments was exciting and positive, I was overwhelmed with stress. I didn't sleep well, I didn't eat properly, my skin care was neglected, and all of that showed on my face. I got pimples, my skin tone was blotchy and uneven, and my skin texture was less than smooth.
But then something started in January: every time I posted a photo of my mug on Instagram, a sea of admiration flooded into my comments. I started to get a look at my face without makeup and was really happy with what I saw when I stared at myself. Maybe it was the newly discovered self-love that I had practiced in therapy, or maybe it was my skin care that admittedly had reached an all-time bougie level even for me. Now I am in a place where I can leave the house freely without makeup and I am really happy with how healthy and smooth my skin looks. I'm not perfect at all, but I am am Really happy, and I have to believe that my fresh, smooth skin has something to do with it. So let's go: The exact skin care routine that delivered smooth, radiant skin in a month and continues to do so today. Give it a try and let me know what you think.
