Where do you put your mobile phone when partying or where is the best place to safely stow your cash? Of course in the bra, think the founders of the sustainable Cologne start-up Pocketsy. So next week they will try their luck at “Die Höhle der Löwen” in order to inspire an investor and to be able to establish their label on the German market. But even before the show was broadcast, we suspected something bad.
Pocketsy in "The Lion's Den": Vision of bras with pockets failed?
On Monday, April 5, 2021, Vox will broadcast the third episode of the ninth season of "The Lions' Den" despite the Easter holidays. Also included: The Cologne label Pocketsy. The founders Dilara Cakirhan and Paula Essam want to try to find an investor for their idea, with whom they primarily want to offer women the opportunity to store their valuables safely. But there is more to it than that.
In an Instagram post, Paula writes that she is primarily interested in giving women the opportunity to keep their hands free and enjoy the moment without having to think about their own valuables. Far too often, in her opinion, one would not be able to indulge in the situation because the problem was still hidden in the back of one's mind. So with this philosophy they want to try Judith Williams, Dagmar Wöhrl, Carsten Maschmeyer, Ralf Dümmel, Nico Rosberg and Nils Glagau to convince of yourself and your idea. Will they succeed?
Video tip: The bagged deals from the broadcast do not always actually come about:
No deal for Pocketsy at "Die Höhle der Löwen"?
If you look at the Instagram page and homepage of Pocketsys, you already suspect something bad. In both cases there is only a final note that the shop is closed. The closing date on the homepage is December 31, 2020. The filming of "The Lions' Den" is likely to have already taken place before that. So it sounds as if you couldn't get any investors interested in your idea during the show, or as if no deal came off after the show. After all, Pocketsy wouldn't be the first start-up that could find an investor on TV, but never came up with a deal afterwards. However, it is currently not known whether there will be another attempt for the label. As much as the founders were behind their idea, a revival with enough budget would be quite conceivable. In any case, we are excited to see what awaits us in the coming episode. By the way, you can also watch them very comfortably on TV NOW.
