Most breakthrough companies are created when a rare niche in the market is not only realized, but also Understood– and that's exactly what happened when Rachel Drori started Daily Harvest. In 2015, Drori had a revelation. Although she was endowed with the knowledge of how to eat healthily, she kept compromising healthy, nutritious foods for reasons of convenience. "It was a symptom of the problem we are all feeling. We know what to eat to take care of ourselves, but somehow we can't or we don't. The world is building more roadblocks than roads. I wanted to do something to change it. That's why I started Daily Harvest, ”reveals Drori.
Daily Harvest is a brand dedicated to creating healthy, clean, practical and personalized solutions. She has modernized the way Americans eat by sourcing organic fruits and vegetables that have been picked at the highest nutritional value and frozen on the farm within hours of being harvested for top-notch flavor and in a pre-packaged package right on delivered to customers' doorsteps. Today the brand has grown from just one employee to a team of more than 200 employees who believe in Drori's mission. Daily Harvest has expanded to over 75 items in nine collections, including Harvest Bowls, Smoothies and Flatbreads, which are packaged in 100% compostable and recyclable materials and available nationwide. There is no doubt that others were just as frustrated as Drori. In Daily Harvest's Series B funding round, Drori raised $ 43 million from VCs and big-name investors like Serena Williams, Gwyneth Paltrow and Bobby Flay.
Before Drori took the plunge to find a solution and completely change the way we eat every day, she worked as a customer-centric marketing director. This career was natural to her, leading teams at highly respected companies such as Gilt Groupe, American Express, and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.
