Grace Mahary was undoubtedly destined to achieve many different professional successes. Mahary began her modeling career at the young age of fifteen, quickly rose to the top of the industry and impressively booked an exclusive first week of fashion at Givenchy. Since then, Mahary has traveled the world and has become a familiar face on the iconic runways and ad campaigns by top designers such as CHANEL, Valentino, Louis Vuitton and Dior.
As Mahary's modeling career took her around the world, her global perspective led her to her first major career hub as she experienced firsthand the many communities suffering from energy poverty. After a haunting, eye-opening trip to her parents' hometown Eritrea, Mahary made the decision to start the non-profit organization Project Tsehighi, which means "sun" in Tigrinya, one of the national languages โโof Eritrea. The Tsehighi project provides sustainable solutions for communities with limited resources by reducing inaccessibility and increasing sustainability Providing solutions for renewable energy like solar panels. Mahary's mission is to use her voice to raise awareness of the work of marginalized communities and ultimately to improve their lives. "My overall approach to life and everything I do has always been to level the playing field and it has always been important to me to use my platform to do that," Mahary adds.
But Mahary's work doesn't stop there. In addition to her admirable actions to end poverty, her international travels sparked another curiosity and passion from Mahary – a love of wine. In 2019, Mahary traded her rigorous Fashion Week schedule for a classroom, eventually earning the revered Certified Sommelier Certificate from the Internation Culinary Center in New York. Mahary has developed her sommelier career and curated a wine list at LA Restaurant Chulita.
