Hello there 🙂
There aren't that many brands that I can say I've worn for more than a decade, but Madewell is definitely one of them. They have some of the best specialty basics out there, and their jeans are as good as designer (and significantly cheaper). This is a fact I've said so many times that I'm practically a broken record at this point.
I am always fascinated by a brand's bestsellers because they can be assumed to be tried and tested and therefore great. But an even better way to prove it is to try them out for yourself. So that's what I did. Madewell has great models (including full size models!), But it's hard to know what an IRL is going to look like, especially if you're 5 & # 39; 4 "like me and the average size of a model is 5 & # 39; 9" . That's why I've selected eight best-seller basics to try on in the comfort of your home, from the perfect white T-shirt to jeans that Madewell buyers rave about. Keep scrolling to see what they look like, read my reviews, and buy the best selling items for yourself.
Broadway Cardigan Sweater Review: I'm a sucker for a sloppy pretty buttoned cardigan so I knew I had to try this as soon as I saw it. The verdict is that I have a new favorite spring sweater. It's nice and light, but not thin, and it's that boxy, slightly foreshortened shape that I love in a sweater. I tried an XS but would probably prefer it in S to keep the cool, slightly oversized fit of the models' cardigans.
High-Rise Skinny Crop Jeans Review: I don't know that they look that comfortable, but believe me when I tell you these jeans are very comfortable. The denim is soft and still manages to hold everything in place. I also like the length – not too short and not too long for my 5 & # 39; 4 "size.
MWL Form High-Rise 7/8 Leggings Rating: It's surprisingly harder to find great leggings that are less than $ 100 than it sounds like, but trust me – I've tried a lot of leggings. These from Madewell's new line of activewear are spot on with some of the $ 125 pairs I've tried. They're compressive, but a little thinner, making them perfect for sweaty workouts.
The Perfect Vintage Jean in Maplewood Wash Review: I'm already a huge fan of Madewell's Perfect Vintage Jeans, so I was thrilled to try them in this popular wash. My first impression was that they looked very clean and classic, so a pair that you can wear for years and the high quality of the denim means that they are made to last. They have good stretch (i.e. I could wear them to work from home), but they aren't quite as stretchy as the skinny jeans I tried. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a classic pair of jeans that is somewhere between skinny and straight leg.
Northside Vintage Tea Review: First off, I can't complain about a $ 16 t-shirt, but I would be a fan even if I had no idea what the price was. I usually prefer t-shirts that are a bit thicker, but this one definitely deserves a spot in my closet as it's the perfect weight for the warm days to come and makes a great layered piece. It's not oversized per se, but neither is it tight (I'm wearing an S size for reference). I would recommend buying it in white first and then buying more colors if you love it.
The Perfect Vintage Military Shorts Review: I love shorts. Always have, always will. I have a large stack of jeans cut-offs in my closet and I've been looking for something else. These fit the bill on a T. They are a great length and I loved the material. They are stretchy, but the material is very sturdy so they hold their shape well. I will definitely add the brownish color to my closet too.
Caldwell Double Breasted Blazer Review: I love a good double-breasted suit, especially for spring when we are allowed to take off our heavy coats, but it is not yet mild enough to bare our arms. It's also one of the few things that you can toss on almost anything, and you'll look 100 times fancier in an instant. I chose this blazer because it appears to have a cool, oversized fit, is made from breathable linen, and is machine washable. The fit was great indeed – the perfect length and just loose enough to wear a thin long sleeve shirt underneath. It looks like you could have spent a lot more than $ 158 on this. It wrinkles a bit, but that's to be expected with linen.
The Perfect Vintage Jean in Ainsworth Wash Review: The light wash and frayed hem made these jeans the most casual of the three I've tried. I'm not someone who cares about stiff jeans as I like the way they look, just cheer up that these are a little stiffer and I had to wiggle a bit to put them on but after I did Had it worn a bit, they started loosening up to the perfect fit. However, if you prefer a loose fit I recommend changing the size in this pair. (For reference, I'm wearing a 26.) All in all, I loved the '90s look and I think they go great with sneakers or casual spring sandals.
