Hello there π
It's sad to admit, but I really neglected my underwear collection all through 2020. With loungewear firmly dominating last year, all of my costumes and pants were somehow shoved to the back of the closet, and suddenly complicated lingerie didn't feel like much of a priority anymore. But as we all know, good underwear is the workhorse of any wardrobe, and I want to cash in here in 2021.
In the spirit of the unofficial January motto "New Year, New Me", I've decided to completely clean my lingerie drawer and build my panty collection from scratch. Fortunately, the makeover was as easy as clicking Amazon, Nordstrom, and Target for a quick browse. If you're like me, you have different underwear for different occasions; Straps and seamless styles to avoid exposed panty liners, pretty briefs that feel chic, and cotton or full coverage briefs when comfort is paramount. Below I've compiled a list of all the pairs I'm buying now to replace my underwear from yesterday. Cheers to new underwear and have fun doing the dishes!
Airy, breathable cotton is the basis of every good underwear collection. No, it's not the most glamorous or cutting-edge material, but when you're lounging in bed or on your couch during a leisurely night, comfort surpasses all. I like buying packs of multiples from Amazon because they're simple and not fussy, but if you want something fancier, Entireworld and Skin have options that feel a bit more luxurious.
There's a time and place for form over function, and that's where pretty panties come in. Never underestimate the power of aesthetically pleasing underwear. others may not see it, but you may feel fine. I'm obsessed with Baseranges plaid right now and these pointy but comfy boys' shorts from Hanky ββPanky.
What they say about thongs is really true: you either love them or you hate them. While they may not be your first choice for underwear, I would say having a few pairs on hand in case your outfit calls for an almost invisible panty liner is handy. For the reluctant, choose soft materials that are light to the touch – this makes them more comfortable to wear. I'm a fan of Cosabella for good looking straps and Commando and Nubian Skin for flesh-colored straps that blend under transparent bottoms or dresses.
Visible Panty Lines are one of my biggest favorite sleeves – they make even the most sophisticated outfit look cheap. For this reason, I chose seamless underwear. I love a good stitch-free silhouette, because it is guaranteed to look undetectable, but baserange-lined stretch bamboo briefs are also inconspicuous and feel heavenly.
I will love to be that person who screams their love for grandma's panties from the mountain tops. They took a bad rap, but today's "grandma" panties are so much different from what your mom might be used to. For one, some now come in more seamless designs as well as smooth, silky fabrics for ultimate comfort. Target's Auden line is one of my favorite styles and for just $ 5 I can buy several without reservation.
When I showed up I was lifting weights 5 days a week and these affordable sports bras are the goat.
