Hello there 🙂
Like many others, my outfits recently revolved around cozy items like sweatpants, baggy jeans, wide-leg pants, and boxy coats. In fact, I'd say the real common denominator in what I've been wearing is that everything is enlarged. Casual, sloppy, relaxed – my wardrobe was really all about comfort. With a number of trends on the horizon that make this feel more comfortable (yet tailored) staple, including The Row's standout F / W 21 collectionI predict nothing but more dynamism for increased proportions. However, there is also a 180 ° distance from them. That's right, bodycon parts are back.
The return of the bodycon trend doesn't really surprise me. It's a trend that I didn't love in its heyday in the 2000s, but it's no longer just about bandage dresses – now the silhouettes I see look kind of fresh and cool and very wearable. Although I don't see myself pulling back on comfortable tracksuits anytime soon, I have longed for pieces that have a little more shape. In fact, my most recent purchase with one body-hugging jersey maxi dress that I imagine wearing them with strappy sandals and layered jewelry in summer.
It seems that I am not alone in my impulse to put on figure-hugging items. I've noticed that fashion fans and celebs like Dua Lipa are wearing every possible version of the bodycon trend, from second skin tops to pieces of dental floss to bodice tops. Check out how Insiders are now wearing the bodycon ahead of time and buy my edit if you're inspired to try it for yourself.
