Hello there 🙂
New York streets put your shoes to the ultimate test. Not only do you put your shoes through their paces, you also put the trend to the test. Yes, I'm talking about everything from the 2010 Jeffrey Campbell platforms (yes, everyone they all wore meatpacking) and the 2012 lace-up boots to boost the current sneaker trend; After living in New York for about a decade, I've probably owned at least a couple of each trend. Due to the transition of many apartments and countless closet cleanups, there is a single shoe style (no pun intended) that has remained a constant in my closet.
My hero shoe style? The knee high boot. These horse-inspired boots, which rest right under the kneecap, hug the calves and have a little slip, have not yet disappointed me. Although they are having a great moment on the runway and are loved by Celebrities like Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Kaia Gerber, they've been around for a while. I have the latest pair from Ganni, but I also have my first pair from Stuart Weitzman from 2010.
As winter approaches and temperatures drop dramatically, your knee-high boots will be the salvation. Wear them over thick tights under a skirt or wear a cozy sheepskin coat with bare legs. there are countless style options. Leather, suede, crocodile and even plaid; Treat yourself to the one shoe that will last you a lifetime. Browse through our 20 favorites.
