Being blessed with sensitive skin brings with it a number of navigation problems. Will this serum make my skin turn red? Does this sensitive cleanser actually clean my skin? Will I suffer from eczema if I don't sleep with the humidifier on? You understand what I mean. But for a product junkie like me, one of the most frustrating problems is when people rave about skin care products that you can't use. Seriously, it's not ideal if someone tells you the secret of their radiant complexion, which you are sure to do the opposite of your skin (read: cause redness, dryness, and inflammation). This applies in particular to lightening products.
Since most lightening products contain some form of vitamin C, known for its radiant skin superpowers, people with sensitive skin are unlikely to be able to use them. You see, as good as vitamin C is for the skin, it is actually too strong and effective for people with highly sensitive skin. Instead of lightening your complexion, it actually irritates him. But as the beauty guinea pig that I am, I was determined to find a few products that I could use despite my sensitive skin. After trying it out for a long time, I found that there are actually some brightening products that give me the shine that I am looking for without irritation (and some even contain vitamin C!). Of course, every skin is a little different, but I thought it might be helpful to share those who worked for me. Below are the 24 best lightening products for sensitive skin.
Caudalie's most popular radiation serum has achieved this status for a reason – it works. Every time I wear this without makeup, I get compliments on how good my skin looks, which is a good sign in my book. The clean formula helps both remove dark spots and lighten the skin thanks to its main ingredient: viniferin. This natural ingredient (derived from grapevines) is said to brighten the skin over 60 times more effectively than vitamin C.
This is one of my favorite products ever. There's a reason everyone is raving about IS Clinical. This scientifically based skin care line consists of highly effective ingredients that visibly change your skin. I have always heard rave reviews about the Active Serum, but since I have sensitive skin, I was recommended to try the Pro-Heal Serum instead. Like the active serum, the pro-heal serum contains a strong form of vitamin C, but it also contains olive leaf extract and vitamins E and A to balance the vitamin C and not irritate your skin. After being used consistently for over a year, it has earned a permanent place in my medicine cabinet.
Another vitamin C product from a fan-preferred skin care line is C E Ferulic from SkinCeuticals. Similar to the above-mentioned pro-heal serum, this product contains a strong form of vitamin C and important calming ingredients such as vitamin E and antioxidants, so that your skin receives all the lightening benefits without irritation.
When using the C E Ferulic, I also make sure to use the Hydrating B5 gel, which contains high levels of hyaluronic acid to keep your skin hydrated. (It holds 1000 times its weight in water!)
If you suffer from dark spots, this is the one for you. The Discoloration Defense serum uses ingredients such as tranexamic acid and kojic acid to reduce the appearance of dark pigmentation and prevent it from continuing to occur.
My amazing beautician and skin saver Vanessa Hernandez actually got me there and I will be grateful forever. These peels are soaked in glycolic acid, an amazing chemical peel to remove dead skin. Typically, people with sensitive skin cannot use the magic powers of glycolic acid because they irritate the skin. However, these pads are also saturated with vitamin K and chamomile to counteract the harsh nature of chemical peels. Just wipe your entire face and neck once a week before bed and wake up with smooth, glowing skin.
These babies do the same thing as their peers above, but they also have a tanning component that also gives them a nice light sheen. Talk about a miracle product!
Thanks to its ultra-pure formulas, Biossance is one of the most lively new skin care brands. (It even has the EEC seal of approval.) This squalane + vitamin C rose oil serum offers all the skin-lightening benefits of vitamin C plus squalane to lock in the moisture of the skin.
Marunk oil from Drunk Elephant is filled with Omega-3 and -9 plus antioxidants to moisturize your skin and give it a youthful glow. It also feels refreshing when used right before bed.
Okay, that may be cheating a bit, but these bronze drops give an instant shine when mixed with my favorite moisturizer during the day.
Another product full of hyaluronic acid is the B-Hydra serum from Drunk Elephant. This will moisturize your skin like no other, while filling and brightening it.
One of the products that I was most nervous about and that surprised me the most is the Sukari baby facial. It is another chemical peel that gently peels off dead skin with AHA and promotes cell turnover to visibly lighten the skin. I only use it every two weeks to make sure, and it tingles slightly during the 20 minutes you have to leave it on, but as soon as I wash it off, my skin calms down and feels like new.
I generally stayed away from physical peels until I got to know this product. The Daily Microfliant uses an enzyme powder to gently exfoliate, cleanse the pores and get a lighter complexion.
This is the only retinol product I use and it lives up to the hype. Shani Dardens Texture Reform is intended for sensitive skin and contains a mild retinoid to increase cell turnover and lighten skin tone.
Eve Loms Radiance Face Oil is used alone or in combination with your moisturizer to revitalize your skin with active ingredients such as hemp seed oil or avocado oil.
Radiance Face Oil blends in perfectly with the whitening cream that blocks melanin production to lighten pigmentation and dark spots.
This lightening essence reduces the appearance of dark spots and thanks to the glycolic acid also eliminates dead skin cells.
Okay, this one might be a little cheating, but this is the best makeup primer I've ever used. It goes on before your foundation to give your skin an even, internally illuminated glow. One simple step and your makeup looks ten times better.
This is one of the newer additions to my skin care routine, and I'm already hooked. Just 10 to 15 minutes twice a week will make your skin shine thanks to the avocado and mild retinol.
I've always loved rosehip oil and Pai's non-toxic version is the best I've tried. I use it a few times a week at night before bed and wake up with an illuminated complexion.
Much like the PowerGlow Peel Pads I raved about above, the M-61's Vitamin C pads are soaked in a gentle but strong Vitamin C plus Vitamin E and antioxidants to balance everything out.
This bronzing facial mist will be your new best friend. Just a light splash over your face before you apply your makeup and you will have a hint of glowing bronze glow all day.
Another product that glows from the inside is the Wander & # 39; s Hidden Glow Cream. This product is packed with Centella asiatica and elderberry and illuminates your skin. At the same time, it ensures a smoother appearance to apply makeup.
Femmues Lumiรจre Vital C is obtained exclusively from plant substances and contains vitamins C and E for brightening, hyaluronic acid for hydration and vitamin E for reducing inflammation.
Next up: I'm 30 years old and I've just started getting eczema – here's what helped.
