As painful as it is to move around, it has its positive aspects – a shiny new place to decorate as you wish, a fresh start, and the ability to take stock of your own data. When examining what you own, moving is the appropriate time to separate the things you love from the things that you may no longer use or that you may no longer need. Any items that just sit and collect dust in your closets can be packaged and donated to both free up your space and hopefully help someone in your community. You can also choose the Marie Kondo approach and get rid of everything that is no longer fun for you – no matter which way you want to go, you have the choice.
This also applies to your wardrobe. The move is the perfect time to take a close look at your closet and pull out the parts that you are not wearing. The last time I moved, I took this task very seriously. I pulled out each piece in my closet, not only considering how often I wear it, but also what condition it is in. Does it have holes? Is the sole of the shoe damaged? Do I cling to parts that no longer fit me properly? After taking all of these and other factors into account, I donated three large garment bags to my local women's shelter and stayed behind with a closet full of parts that I am 100% in love with.
Since it is the beginning of the year and we are about to start a new season, the flushing of the wardrobe will soon increase. So I thought this would be a great time to share the parts that I deleted during my move last month and the reasons for every item I donated. Listed below are the four fashion items that I removed from my closet and what I would like to add in their place to fill the new gaps in my closet.
Next up: nine chic candles that you can find on every fashion girl's lining.
