Hello there 🙂
My grandfather was very stylish. In fact, there are a few fashion tips that he anchored in my brain a long time ago that I still think about today. One was to always remember the tailor ("Bobby, nobody likes flabby pants," he would say), and the other was never to forget the choice of your sock because it was does Matter. And it is true. While socks often appear afterwards, the accessory is often noticed when the trouser leg is lifted. It is therefore important that your socks game gets to the point.
In this sense, a rule of thumb that my grandfather also taught was never to wear white socks with black shoes. For many (except Michael Jackson) this pairing was considered a "mistake" because black or multi-colored socks were more appropriate. But as the fashion crowd keeps proving, it's pretty open-minded and cool to wear white socks with one of the S / S 20's most notable shoe trends, the loafers.
A bit ironic in nature, this is one of those looks that feels "wrong" but actually is right as an unexpected and easy way to give every look a turn forward. Some of the greatest designers have also shown this styling trick in their latest collections. For example, Chanel has just launched a number of models onto the slopes for his S / S 20 couture show in black loafers with built-in white socks.
To further deepen this trend, I would like to highlight some of my current favorite street style looks, including white socks with black loafers. I also took a few runway shots underneath and picked out stylish loafers (with matching socks) to maybe inspire you to try this quirky but cool look this season. I know I will.
