Hello there 🙂
An exact treatment of my skin savior.
To be honest? It was scary to publish this completely untouched photo for the whole world. And frankly, that's my face (and acne) on a really good day. It was a trip and after I stopped taking spironolactone a little over a year ago for certain health reasons, my skin turned the effect off. And it has been a journey full of ups and downs ever since. (But more lows.) Sometimes my skin looks great and I feel very safe in my skin – even if I'm completely free of makeup and facetune. But sometimes I feel so confident and sad that I don't want to leave the house. It is difficult! I know that there is a severity spectrum when it comes to acne (and I probably fall under that spectrum), but I would be lying if I told you that it never affects the way I feel. Still, I've taken the best steps to make my skin as healthy and happy as possible until my hormones work through everything they have to do. While before moving on to frequent, high-extraction facial treatments that made me swell in connection with heavy peeling skin care, I moved on to a much more basic, gentler, and hydration-oriented routine. And my skin magically got so much better. It turned out that an attack on my skin with acids and high-performance peels had exactly the opposite effect that I had hoped for. The pH and microbiome of my skin were not only whipped completely, they were also dry like the Sahara. Which actually provokes outbreaks. Madness. Anyway, nowadays I stick to a gentle routine with moisturizing cleansers with gentle clarifying properties, non-oily facial mists, hydrated serums and non-comedogenic moisturizers. And that's it! In the morning I cleanse, spray a mist and finish with an HA serum and SPF. At night it's exactly the same, except that I swap the sunscreen factor for a face cream and only mask and / or exfoliate once or twice a week. It helped dramatically. Below I share the exact formulas that I swear by and that I go through. (You can easily choose a product from any category – I use everything I have on hand.) Not only have they improved the moisture content of my skin, they also don't clog my pores or provoke my acne. Win win! Scroll on. I've never been obsessed with a detergent until I tried this (and the following!) From iS Clinical. Seriously, people – LIFE CHANGE. I swear that after using this gentle cleanser for only a few days in a row, my skin texture smoothed, my bumps began to dissipate and my persistent redness and acne scars started to ease her anger. It contains all kinds of amazing ingredients like white willow bark and antioxidant rich chamomile and Centella Asiatic that not only heal existing damage but also help keep my skin barrier hydrated, plump, moist and happy. If you buy a product from this whole story, make it this! It's a gel and a little goes a long, long way, which makes the higher price of stickers worth it. It was love at first sight after Victoria Beckham's facialist Melanie Grant recommended me to use this warming, honey-infused cleanser every day. It uses luxurious ingredients like the above-mentioned raw honey, royal jelly and propolis to moisturize the pores, refine the pores and perform a deep exfoliation without irritating or damaging your skin's moisture. I'm pretty obsessed with it. This is another great option for those looking for a gentle, ultra-moisturizing cleanser that won't strip your skin but provides a super thorough cleanse. The name doesn't lie – it has the velvety softness of a serum before you massage it into your skin. This is really the only acne exfoliator that doesn't irritate or dry my complexion. Basically, I would entrust my life (and the integrity of my skin) to the prominent beautician Renée Rouleau and rely on this cleanser a few nights a week to keep my pores and acne at bay. It's a great addition if you want to reduce breakouts, and it's a bit more aggressive than the other cleansers here if you feel more uncontrolled about acne than usual. This fog was my grave that saved me in the morning and evening. It tightens, hydrates and balances the pH of your skin. I have had it for two weeks and am already in the middle of the bottle. I love it so much. Made in France, I use this pure rose water as a toner, as a refreshing lunch or as a fancier, antioxidant-rich alternative to old water when I wet my beauty blender. I would bet an annual salary that every single beauty editor, celebrity, and model in the world owns this iconic mist. I use it whenever my skin needs a boost, whether before a date, in the middle of the day, in the middle of the make-up – it's a fair game around the clock! The magic lies in the typical mixture of the mixture of grapes, roses and rosemary. (So yes, it also smells like dreamy AF.) A few months ago, I decided to find a cleaner setting spray than the one I had always used, which I suspected contributed to my breakouts. This lush little mist from the clean beauty brand lilah b. saved the day. It contains only the highest quality ingredients and keeps my skin exceptionally moist, hydrated and free of pimples. We lived happily and I didn't miss my old spray. The MVP ingredients include knot grass extract (for tightening and defending the environment), fortified mineral water (for hydration and pH balance), fig extract (for calming antioxidants), dandelion extract (for detoxification and radiation) and brown algae (for another hit ) of moisture and moisture). If you don't have at least one of Mario Badescu's best-selling facial mists, what do you do with your life at all? Joke. But no, really, they are great, they are affordable and I love them especially thanks to their strategic mix of lavender, chamomile, aloe and thyme that keeps my skin calm and not thirsty. (I also love spraying it on a beauty blender and sticking it on my skin in the middle of the day or just before going to night if I've been wearing my makeup all day.) I've tried many different serums for acne and frankly most of them worsen my flare-ups. After using this iS Clinical cooling serum infused with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, I noticed a HUGE difference in terms of health, clarity, brightness and fullness of my skin. I use it in the morning and in the evening. But I also love this hyaluronic acid and aloe vera essence serum from Facile Dermatology + Boutique REALLY – a place frequented by many members of the A list in West Hollywood. It is straightforward, non-irritating, and intensely moisturizing without leaving my skin sticky or sticky. Skin care products with epidermal growth factors are very popular right now, and I started using this serum every morning after facialist Kerry Benjamin prescribed it. He said it would help my acne by speeding up my skin's ability to repair itself. It's light, it makes my skin elastic and radiant and I definitely think it will lighten my pigmentation and acne scars. And the best part is that it didn't trigger new outbreaks. This new serum is the love child of Victoria Beckham and Augustinus Bader, and frankly I don't feel like I really have to keep going. It is brand new and incredible. (Seriously, my makeup looks a lot more special if I use it to prepare my skin before use.) It contains a healthy dose of hyaluronic acid for maximum hydration, but so many other amazing things like Augustine Bader's patented TFC8® technology that Brightens niacinamide, microalgae, rich yeast fermentation, olive fruit extract, vitamin E and porcelain flower biopeptides. Peeling is a necessary part of every acne regiment. The key is simply not to get too persistent or aggressive. (Aka – you don't need all of these! Choose a formula and use it once or twice a week at most.) Also look for products that contain your typical pore-depriving ingredients like peeling acids but a lot of other moisture and soothing ingredients. These glow peel pads are one of my favorite skin care products. I use them at night before moisturizing once or twice a week and waking up with a smoother, lighter, and clearer complexion. This is one of the first products I fell in love with as a beauty editor and it is still strong and constantly based on my vanity. I will use it (at most) once a week if my skin feels clogged. Immediately afterwards, my skin is smoother, more radiant and super, super radiant and moist. These pads are somewhat similar to the M-61, but a little stronger. I would choose one or the other and I either shoot or depending on what I have in stock. To take advantage of their glowing and skin-enhancing benefits (they also have moisturizing HA!), Use them only once a week at night and be sure to hit your neck and chest too! This liquid peel is the next best way to get one of Kerry Benjamin's iconic IRL facials. She formulated it with the perfect balance of five different acids to help with acne, aging, and hyperpigmentation. Basically, you will apply it after cleaning and before your moisturizers. It is self-neutralizing and does not need to be rinsed. You will wake up, wash your face and notice the difference. Kate Somerville's ExfoliKate is probably the O.G. Peeling product in the industry, and frankly, I still love it. (I've been using it since high school because my mother always kept it in our shower.) Because it contains luxurious ingredients like honey, aloe and vitamin E, it keeps your skin balanced and beautifully hydrated. The smell is really amazing too. I'm pretty obsessed with Vanessa Lee, RN – Hollywood's ultimate skin whisperer. And it is not surprising that her own product line is just as dreamy as the woman herself. Leave it in for 30 minutes and let the mixture of organic oats, vitamin B5 and hyaluronic acid work to nourish, lift and tighten the magic , Nowadays I am VERY free of clay and charcoal masks that sucked my pores a little too dry and often made my skin angry, red and super dehydrated. When I deal with outbreaks, I always use Renée's best-selling detox mask. It looks like a tingly pot of honey inside and strategically uses a blend of tea tree, manuka, salicylic acid, hyaluronic acid, and allantoin to control all new friends on your face. The most dreamy ingredients like saffron flower extract, shea butter, Kokum Butteer, Padina Pavonica extract, thyme honey, vitamin B3, vegetable glycerin and light oils work together while you sleep to re-hydrate your skin. This mask is a bit clumsy, so I take care not to use it too often. But when I do that, I can never get over how effective it is in relieving dryness and increasing the natural glow of my skin. If you are super oily and prone to acne, I recommend Shani Dardens oil-free moisturizer. It never broke out and my skin has a velvety matt finish. That said, if your skin needs serious TLC and you need something heavier that doesn't break out, I can't recommend this ultra-repairable hydrator from iS Clinical. I've been using it for a while now and am so impressed with the results. It has also been designed with leading makeup artists so it looks incredibly good under your foundation. (If you take care of such things.) I am pretty sure that this is the only sun protection factor in the world that does not break me out and is 100% effective to keep the sun damage at bay. This is another oil-free option that I recently waived. It's a little more moisturizing than Shani's, so it's a good middle ground between her and the more intense iS Clinical formula. This eye cream is not only incredibly creamy and moisturizing (but not sticky or slimy like some eye creams at all), but also a great help in the dark circle department. I will use it before bed and then again in the morning to end my morning skin routine. My circles are (obviously) still there, but they are much less glaring. The key is in the mix of hyaluronic acid, peptides and antioxidants When I found out that makeup artists used this 111Skin formula to prepare the red carpet of celebrity skin, I was 88.5% on board. And after a few uses, when I noticed that my eyes looked less shady and significantly firmer, firmer and less tired all around, I jumped to 120%. It's categorically an eye cream, but it's formulated as a soothing, lightweight gel that anyone who's against heavy, tasty creams will absolutely love. There is also the whole eye-lifting effect, which is wonderful in and of itself. This eye cream is one of the deepest moisturizing formulas I've ever tested. Because of this insane moisture, I find that my eyes look less dried and skeletal and brighter, wetter and fuller. It is a light, very soothing formula that provides a 26-hour hydration period. It is one that you have to throw in your basket the next time you walk through the aisles of Sephora. Sorry, but I will never stop talking about this lip product. (I pretty much incorporate it into every single story I write.) It's just magical! It fills your lips, keeps them hydrated for hours and is not too sticky or slippery. I'm also obsessed with this fresh lip balm – don't let me choose! This has the most delicious taste / smell, keeps my lips free forever, improves their shape and is also ideal under make-up. (I usually put the PCA Skin over it!) This vegan lip balm enriched with rose and hyaluronic acid is a new find that I love. Most balms that are so super thick and mild are loaded with comedogenic oils that break me out, but not this one! I love to stroke it over my lips at night. When I wake up, my put is still plump and hydrated. I love it. Next I've been testing beauty products for 3 years – these 39 are my absolute favorite
