Hello there 🙂

When it comes to makeup products, I usually don't think that much about eyeshadow. Sure, I use them, but I'm not too picky about which brands I use. My makeup priorities revolve around foundations, concealers, and mascaras. I can be pretty picky when it comes to these types of products.

But of course not all eyeshadows are created equal. In addition to the choice of color, there are other factors to consider, such as: B. pigment, finish and staying power. You want a formula that won't wrinkle or cake up. And it also depends on the type of eye makeup look you are looking for. Some people may want something natural and fine. others may want something highly saturated.

Anyway, I asked my colleagues and some makeup artists to point me out of their favorite brands of eyeshadow. I wanted to know what their tried and true favorites were the next time I went looking for a new shade or palette in the market. Below are their exuberant reviews.

"I use Charlotte Tilbury's pallets almost every day. Whichever you choose, all four colors are actually wearable and each contain a fun, sparkling color to wear from day to night. Exaggereyes is my go-to place, but Pillow Talk is pretty if you want a natural look, and I love Rebel's greenish-gold tones so much too. "- Allyson Payer, managing editor

"I love the gold eyeshadow palettes. They are the perfect size and mirror for easy use. The Pillow Talk palette is a stunning everyday palette." – Tobi Henney, makeup artist. "Charlotte created a pop in every quad that made everything more fun. Her pigment is the next level, as is the grid on each quad that explains placement." – Mia Jones, makeup artist

"Charlotte Tilbury's eyeshadows are super pigmented and easy to blend. Perfect for a romantic / girly look. The Compact is small and lightweight and doesn't take up too much space in my kit. I love the peachy tones that Charlotte does; they work wonderfully with super light skin tones. "- Valeria Ferreira, makeup artist

“It's safe to say that I will be the last person to order a huge range of eyeshadows. When I heard about a new eyeshadow product from Kosas, a clean beauty brand that I already love and trust, I was curious to try it out Known as 10 Second Eyeshadow, it's a shimmery liquid formula that's as quick and easy to use as the name suggests – you simply slide the applicator all over your lid, then dab it in with your finger, and then hang off on how subtle or bold you are, if you want to go, you can put more pigment on it. So yeah, it's like it's made especially for uncoordinated people like me. "- Anna LaPlaca, Associate Editor

"I've never been a big eyeshadow girl, but in the last few years I've started adding shimmery, neutral shadows into my routine. And if I could only use one brand for the rest of my life, it would be Kaja. First and foremost, I'm obsessed with I'm not a fan of pallets (I only ever use a color or two anyway!), and the stackable design of each trio is just too cute and practical. All three colors complement each other so you have everything you need to create your entire look. I have at least five of these and I use them all regularly. That said, the ones with shimmer are my favorites – rose water, orange blossom, toasted caramel, and chocolate dahlia. "- Erin Jahns, Senior Beauty Editor

"Nars Pyrenees is a time-honored favorite. Another product that doubles as both an all-over shade (dramatic) and an everyday liner (more subtle). This slightly metallic gray enhances my blue eyes and looks great with a thick coat of mascara . Because I love this shade so much, I buy it as a single shade rather than part of a palette. Highly recommended. "- Drew Elovitz, Director of Content Strategy and Senior Managing Editor

"They come out with new and exciting palettes every season. The Afterglow Eyeshadow Palette offers the most fun hues that can create endless looks." – Henney

"I swear by MAC's eyeshadow palettes. I have blue eyes and blonde hair, so I prefer browns and neutrals for an everyday look, with some metallics for evening and special events. This palette came with everywhere during the wedding season. The colors are all buildable and complementary, which makes it super versatile. "- Elovitz

"The packaging is super chic and the shade tones are beautifully curated into quads and they blend so well! African Violet is such a fun palette of orange and purple that sounds like an odd mix but works so well." – Henney

"Tom Ford's formulas and color choices are so beautiful. Each compact feels and is like luxury. I love the lightness of a quad." – Jones. "Tom Ford makes the most exquisite eyeshadow quads. I love the texture and how easy they are to blend. The palette combinations are heavenly and super original." – Ferreira

“I know I said I'm not a huge fan of palettes, but I'm making an exception for Pat McGrath Labs. The colors and pigment payouts are insane, and unlike so many other brands, I use every single shade in It's hard for everyone to play favorites, but if you're looking to invest, I recommend the Divine Rose Luxe Eyeshadow Quad: Eternal Eden, the Divine Rose II Collection, and the Blitz Astral Quad in Iconic Illumination. "- Jahns

"What can I say? I love a little shimmer. Chantecaille & # 39; s eyeshadows come in a gorgeous color palette, and I like that they can be used anywhere on the lid or as an eyeliner with just a dab of water on a brush with the formula is also great because it doesn't wrinkle my eyelids – something I usually struggle with. Plus, the brand's angled eyeliner brush is a must have. "- Elovitz

“I was never really an eyeshadow girl until I saw that hypnotic, very subtle sheen on my colleague's lids. Of course, I copied it, and it's the only eyeshadow I wear regularly. It has a creamy texture that brightens your whole Face and, as Detox Market says, are given a "glowing, light-reflective finish that can't be seen in traditional eye shadow." Plus, it's from a clean brand, which is a bonus in my book. "- Kat Collings, Editor-in-Chief

""[They’re] The most beautifully produced eyeshadows for makeup artists and everyone who takes their make-up seriously. They cover every possible shade. "- Henney

"Huda Beauty has an incredible range of colors and pigments. Each palette contains so many colors that the price can't be beat." – Jones

"I love the little Obsession shadow palettes. They are great for traveling. I take the Topaz Obsession palette with me everywhere and I love the mix of matte and metallic shades." – Henney

"My favorite brand for luxury eyeshadows is Armani Beauty. The textures of these shadows ensure an even application and are beautifully pigmented for longer wearing times." – Mai Quynh, makeup artist

"These palettes are super fun and modern. The 75 Warm Eyeshadow Palette offers the most beautiful shades for summer!" – Henney

"When it comes to eyeshadow palettes, I really like to keep them minimal and have an easy-to-carry neutral palette that I can apply when I'm feeling a little extra. I love Sigma's Spicy palette, because she has every tone you have. I'd have to create a brown smoky eye or just put a little shimmer on your eyelids without a fuss. "- Jasmine Fox-Suliaman, Audience Engagement Editor

"Natasha Denona makes incredible powder shadows. The formula is dense and rich, but mixable and lasts all day. All of the palettes are amazing, but the Biba palette is gorgeous for creating wearable everyday and classic looks." – Beau Nelson, makeup artist

"These palettes are super light and have such a beautiful texture that blending is more than easy. The Smoky Eye palette in silk is such a lovely selection of gold and bronze tones that I love to use day and night." – Henney

"I love the backstage palettes. They come with a primer that works great under powder shadows. The Amber Neutrals palette is one of my favorite palettes for day and night looks on any eye color. The colors are so warm and." nice. "- Henney

"Trust me – liquid and cream eyeshadows are a lot less intimidating than you might initially think. In fact, I think they are actually easier to apply and work with than powder! I have a lot of favorites, but lately I've been thrilled from Jason Wu's new Celestial Lust Glitter Cream Shadows. I'm a sucker for glitter and shimmer, and these are a hit without looking sticky or overdone. Jane Doe is my favorite, but I love Lace & Grace too. "- Jahns

"Anastasia Beverly Hills has a range of palettes called Norvina (her daughter's name). They are every color you can think of. Pigments are super strong and long-lasting. If I'm looking for an unusual tone or pop of color, that's where I find it it! "- Ferreira

"I love all the light colors they have, and the shadows are super mixable too." – Quynh

"I worked on the launch of this range and saw how it was born. The quality of the shadows is superb. If you're looking for subdued and reserved colors, you've come to the right place. Perfect nudes and pops of color." – Ferreira. Next up: I finally found the blush that goes good with my oily 40 year old skin
