Hello there 🙂
While I love a good maximalistic moment every now and then, the simplicity of a muted neutral palette and heightened wardrobe bases only make one difference these days. I've been feeling more and more drawn to a modern minimalist aesthetic lately as it really aligns with my WFH lifestyle. I've found Instagram to be a great source of inspiration in this regard, especially Tanice Elizabeth. The Belfast-based content creator is an expert in styling luxurious loungewear and creating the perfect layered look. I got a lot of outfit tips from their simple but cool fits.
Given that this low-key approach to style is striking a chord right now, I asked Tanice to point out some of the minimalist clothing trends she's most excited about in 2021 – and her answers are good. From the not-so-straightforward basics she populates her wardrobe to the cool loungewear she has in mind, read on to discover the new styles she prioritizes and witness her low-key style the way.
“I love a relaxed fit because I love to be comfortable, especially when I'm working from home and at school. After what I've seen on the catwalk, I look forward to tailored pants and simple ones To wear t-shirts or oversized shirts with leggings. Along with some comfortable shoes like a pair of Birkenstocks (yet to decide which pair to invest in). "
"It's no secret that I like to incorporate basics into almost every outfit I wear. I have to wear loungewear four out of seven days a week (maybe five). I think it's great that designers have taken the fact into account Our daily life has changed a bit, and as such we see elevated loungewear like sweaters with shoulder pads and fancy loungewear. I will wear my loungewear with jewelry and either a pair of sneakers or waterproof boots. "
"Recently we've started seeing a lot of simple layers, be it on Totême or The Row. I'm really looking forward to wearing more knitwear over shirts as I love to be cozy, or an oversized slim-fitting dress Shirt thrown over my shoulders or even a sweater thrown over a tracksuit for cozy loungewear days! The possibilities are endless. "
"Okay, so that's not new, but the black dress seems to be making a comeback in 2021 with a slightly different angle. I have a form-fitting but comfortable black midi dress that is thickly knitted, and I plan to use it both for the Lounging as well as wearing for dressing or dinner. "
“I love oversized outerwear because you can wear anything underneath and still look chic. Being comfortable but warm is very much appreciated for the Irish weather. Whether it's an oversized trench coat or an oversized boxy fit coat, me plane Wear them for coffee runs, grocery shopping, and hopefully some outdoor social events. "
