Hello there 🙂
Click here to see how our product shipments are compared.
My wonderful mother (if you didn't know) is a kind of beauty fanatic. Not only does she look at least 10 years younger than she is * actually * 73 years old, she's also a bit of a product fanatic. That makes sense when you consider that she is a Tucson-based makeup artist who targets women over 50. In other words, she is the makeup and skin care whisperer for people with mature skin and other age-related or beauty issues. She has a Facebook page and a YouTube channel. I definitely recommend you visit this page (and share it with all the leading women in your life – from mother to grandmother), and despite our age difference of almost 50 years, I go to her for product recommendations and skin advice. I mean, her skin is wetter and smoother than mine! I would be irritated if I didn't love her so much. I'm still waiting for her amazing genes (acne, go away, please!), But in the meantime I love to sporadically present my mother and all of her amazing information here on Who What Wear. From her favorite anti-aging serums to her reviews of lively, inexpensive brands like The Ordinary and Versed, she always offers great tips. Here's the next episode: I decided to do a little experiment to see how our beauty shopping routes could be compared. Given our age difference and the different tastes of products, brands and formulations, I gave us $ 250 each (in theory), which we sold separately at Net-a-Porter, Violet Gray, Dermstore and Sephora (also known as my top 4 Beauty retailers) could now spend immediately). Curious how our respective "hauls" are compared? Scroll on! And maybe you grab your credit card? Although I have not tried this product yet, it is definitely on my "lust" list. The reviews I've read about this product illustrate the beautiful texture it delivers and how beautiful and "skin-like" the formulation is. I can't wait to try this product. I've loved almost every Tatcha product I've tried. This formulation feels luxurious on the skin and has so many natural ingredients that are so good for your skin. Can't say enough good things about it. I love the fact that this can be a beautiful product that can be used both before and after applying makeup. How spray mist can really make a difference on these types of products, and this spray mist delivers a nice, soft mist with small particles to look forward to at the end of a makeup application. I also like to spray it on a very lightly moistened makeup sponge and press it gently into the skin. TOTAL AMOUNT: USD 235. (For your information – Tatcha's The Silk Peony Melting Eye Cream ($ 60) doesn't seem to be one of the Tatcha products that Violet Gray stocks, but I hope the retailer will have it soon. The feel of this cream in the Eye area is unique I've tried it before and unlike many other eye creams, I've noticed a difference in my eye area. Not included in the total price.) The research behind the benefits of this combination of C and E is undeniable. But the proof is always in the pudding, and this product has definitely made a difference in my skin care routine. Any dermatologist or plastic surgeon will confirm that retinol is a must to avoid fine lines. There is no question of how important this product is for mature skin. It's a game changer! TOTAL AMOUNT: $ 254 (Oops, I'm over $ 4 – but what can a woman do if she needs the benefits of these skin care products?) Since most of us are over 50 and have discoloration on the eyelids, this is an absolute must for me. Not only does it prevent my eyeshadow from wrinkling or smearing (how have my eyelids become oily and my skin has become drier?), But I also use it when I don't wear eyeshadow as it brightens my eye area and makes my eyes look bigger , For a neutral, everyday, quick eyeshadow look outdoors, this great palette is just the thing. I have very sensitive eyes and just can't wear a lot of mascaras. This is my long time favorite. It creates a nice volume and is pretty foolproof. Excellent opacity, easy to apply with a doe foot applicator, likes the creamy consistency. Also comes in a wide range of colors. Do I have to say more? I only use powder sparingly in my T-Zone and that's a must. It is finely ground and never looks cake-like on my skin. It is the perfect lightweight cover. I often use it as a foundation for the eyes before applying eye shadow. It helps the eyeshadow to slide on effortlessly. Erin actually put me on that foundation. It provides just the right amount of radiance to my mature skin. It feels wonderfully light and yet has a solid medium range. And there is a boat load of shade available. I almost always use Creme Blush and Highlighter (and recommend it to my clients aged 45 and over). This brand not only has skin-loving (and no harmful) ingredients, but it also glides on seamlessly. I also think it's great that each color duo is available in both a more intense and a softer version. It is wonderful to have this choice. Powder red and highlighters can look blotchy on mature skin, but creams always provide a nice, soft shine that blends in wonderfully. And a small highlighter in strategic places looks beautiful. An eyelash curler can be a game changer for people over 50. This from Tarte has grippier handles and a small version of its wonderful mascara. Who can resist a “twofer” that influences your beauty routine so much? TOTAL AMOUNT: $ 244 Okay, can I just spoil myself a little with The Rich Cream by Augustinus Bader? This product was developed by an amazing German scientist and Erin (bless her) always gives me it because she knows I love it and swear by its magical skin-enhancing benefits. That said, this magical cream is a blessing. So if I want to get more out of my money, I'll buy the following six items instead. I have to admit that I haven't tried this product yet, (sorry for the pun) I've heard absolutely glowing reviews of how well this works on mature skin. I wouldn't normally use powder, but this formulation seems to be a unique product that creates a soft, shiny look. Okay, I admit it. I am easily obsessed with Charlotte Tilbury products. I love the fact that so many of their products really meet the needs of over 50 women as well as younger women. This product in particular is very versatile. It can be used as a foundation, mixed with the foundation, applied selectively to strategic areas of the face, or mixed with a moisturizer. I have to love the amazing range of options with this product. And as you may have noticed in my other decisions, I'm only concerned with the "soft shimmer" options for mature skin. This is one of my all time favorites. Erin insisted that I try this product some time ago and it kind of changed my life. It is the best brow product I have ever used and works great for those who find their brows are getting sparser. This tinted brow gel is quick and easy to use. Most of all, it has a wonderful, tiny brush that allows you to determine exactly where the product will be applied. I have tried other products like this one that have a large brush, making precise application impossible. Some tinted brow gels don't have much "tint", but this is a great combination of tint and gel. This wand is a great outline color (which is not always easy to find) that is easy to apply – although I still recommend using a brush. Contouring is a wonderful way to achieve more facial contrast on mature skin. As we get older, we lose face contrast. This is a wonderful product for those of us who are over 50 years old! I'm focusing on another option again. Applying this product in a triangle under the eyes is a wonderful way to lighten and “lift” the face, and it also looks beautiful on the cheekbones. Many of us with mature skin notice some of these annoying vertical lines around our lip area. Since many lipstick formulas can blend into these fine lines, a great matte lipstick really helps avoid this problem. And this formula is top notch. I like to use one of Charlotte Tilbury's gloss products (like the Lip Luster Luxe Color Lasting Lip Lacquer, $ 20) in the middle of my mouth (avoiding the lip's edge to prevent gloss migration) to lighten a matte lip color and to lighten. TOTAL AMOUNT: USD 235 (excluding Augustine Bader) The day I found out that Augustine Bader worked with Victoria Beckham Beauty was basically Christmas – up to 100 times. My colleague Courtney Higgs and I agree that this foundation is different from anything our face has ever experienced. A guaranteed good skin day in the bottle. To save some money, I choose the smaller size, which is $ 95. So I have the Riki Skinny Mirror and frankly it's pretty much the most popular beauty product I currently have. (If you value great lighting – you need Riki Loves Riki in your life!) Call me maintenance-intensive, but now I feel like I need a more portable version. This elegant little handheld number has LED lights with three dimming levels. (Crappy restaurant bathroom lighting, be gone!) French icon Jeanne Damas designed these creamy vegan lipsticks themselves. Do I have to explain why it is my life's work to collect every single shade? Kim Kardashian West, Courtney, and I all agree – you didn't live until you bathed (and pulled off, duh) with that seriously dreamy body scrub. The smell and the velvety smooth surface it leaves behind are so divine – as if the sky had taken shape as your bathtub. TOTAL AMOUNT: $ 248 My mother and I are both obsessed with Gloss Moderne's hair care products, although we have completely different colors, lengths and textures. It's one of the few clean hair care brands that I think will clean dirty strands effectively, and my mother and I agree that the mask is one of the best formulas ever if you need serious shine. For your information, if you don't think it is possible to be obsessed with something as simple as lip treatment, you have never tried this small tube from PCA Skin. Really, it's the best lip balm I've ever tried. I panic without it! Unlike my mother, I'm usually a powder highlighter girl. However, Iliad's serum-enriched formula is the only one that can convert me. I can't describe how seamlessly it blends into your skin to create a dewy (but not too dewy) hint of radiance. If someone complains to me about bloating or digestive problems, I immediately suggest these Hum Nutrition digestive enzyme capsules. The blend optimizes protein, carbohydrate, fiber and fat breakdown to help your body absorb nutrients while relieving bloating and indigestion. TOTAL AMOUNT: $ 238 Hourglass just launched this concealer and I'm obsessed with it. I like how light and durable it is. I have very sensitive eyes (which are prone to tears!), And this formula defies the storm while my eyes remain beautiful, bright and wrinkle-free. Dior & # 39; s iconic balm – but it became the most epic lip oil. This is on my wish list. Also on my wish list? This brand new mascara that RiRi has just launched. I've seen some pre- and post-processing, and the results are pretty amazing – think of full, fanned-out, long, and thick lashes. (what is what i want). I am such a mask girl. This is the easiest and fastest way to get a radiantly beautiful complexion. Since I'm a big fan of the serum version of this jelly texture mask, it's no surprise that this mask enriched with AHA and BHA is the next item on my must-try list. I can't express how excited I am that Sephora is now wearing this addictive Goop chew. They make their name proud and not only taste great (like mint chocolate!), But are also one of the few sleeping pills that really work. You are always on my bedside table! Oh, and the Nerd Alert Energy Chews ($ 30) are life-changing too. Since I'm my mother's Tatcha friend, I can't wait to get her hands on this brand new lip mask. The packaging is adorable, but it also makes your lips so soft and shiny. It's so great for winter and has a unique jelly consistency that I loved as an alternative to balm. I love kitsch and I love hair ties. I can't get over the fact that this chic little set only costs $ 12. Choose between pink and blue! Because I can never have too many! TOTAL AMOUNT: USD 240 Okay, I spit here, but (in real life) I'm almost out of my favorite perfume and longing for a refill. Net-a-Porter with the Save! (But honestly, as long as I've been wearing perfumes, I've never received more compliments on my fragrance than when I wear this best-selling Killian formula. I love the Slip pillow cases, sleep masks and hair ties so much, and I firmly believe that my skin and hair health has improved since I regularly added the brand to my beauty routine. This pretty combination of bow and hair tie is on my radar. TOTAL AMOUNT: USD 240. Next topic: People don't think my mother is 71 – here are 8 anti-aging serums she uses
