H&M x Lee: 100 percent sustainable
The focus of the joint collection of the Swedish fashion chain and the American jeans label is primarily the Sustainability – from design to production. For this reason, H&M has pulled out all the stops for this collaboration in order to find perfect solutions for making the sewing thread of the jeans, the cotton from which it is made and also the metal for buttons, rivets and zippers as sustainable as possible can be. The result? The first jeans made from 100 percent recycled cotton. This consists of 80% production waste and 20% consumer waste. The patches on the back are made of leather-free cork and Jacron paper, made with Lyocell cellulose sewing thread and all metal parts are not coated and non-toxic. In addition to this model, there are also pieces made of cotton-free denim, which is made from renewable synthetic fibers. But not only the materials are sustainable, the production is also more environmentally friendly.
Less water consumption – more customer transparency
