In view of the current global corona situation with new horror news, special corona programs and virologist talks, many of us are understandably deeply insecure and afraid. What I and many experts, doctors and therapists who specialize in the field of orthomolecular medicine unfortunately misses out on in the one-sided media coverage or is only mentioned in passing, is the role of a well-functioning immune system. Because despite the scarcely available therapy options, we are not at the mercy of SARS-CoV-2 without protection. Anyone who researches the supposedly hyped vitamins on the internet will repeatedly come across one-sided articles or questionable studies that deliberately put many micronutrients such as vitamin A, vitamin D, omega 3 or selenium in a bad light. Often it says that this z. B. in the case of vitamins A, D and selenium can either lead to serious damage to health, or, as with omega 3 acids, have no positive benefit. Which ones does our body need for an intact immune system?
Vitamin A / vitamin D.
Vitamin A: 3000-10,000 IU (per day) 30 to 50 I.U Vitamin A recommended per kg body weight per day (e.g. retinol-containing oil, 500 IU vitamin A per drop) Vitamin A status does not have to be measured
Vitamin D: 3000-10,000 IU (per day) 40 to 60 I.U. Vitamin D recommended per body weight per day (DGE recommends a ridiculous 800 IU!)
Optimal vitamin D level should be 40-60 ng / ml or 100-150 nmol / l
Beware of patients with sarcoid! The 25 (OH) D level should be monitored in these patients and should be between 20-30 ng / ml to avoid hypercalcaemia.

Vitamin D / A ratio 1: 1 or 2: 1, for example, with a body weight of 85 kg, this would mean: Vitamin D: 5000 IU (60 IU x 85 kg) and Vitamin A: 3000 IU
1-2 g preventively
Supply during an infection or preventively z. B. with 3x a day from freshly squeezed orange juice or smoothie with kiwi, here the recipe, because if the oral intake of more than 200 mg vitamin C is used, the bioavailability will decrease. In Germany, an adult with a balanced diet hardly receives more than 50 μg selenium per day, as our foods generally contain little selenium. In 2017, the scientists at ETH Zurich issued an early warning in the renowned journal PNAS 2017: around one billion people worldwide suffer from selenium deficiency (<100 μg / l).
Selenium deficiency (<100 μg / L) generally weakens the immune system and thus reduces the body's chance of dealing with the virus. In addition, a selenium deficiency can promote mutations in a virus, as was shown by the example of the influenza virus. A selenium deficiency can also be responsible for a more severe course of the disease, as viruses can multiply and spread faster in the body with a selenium deficiency.
Adolescents and adults: 100 – 200 µg as sodium selenite or selenium methionine per day (~ 1.5-2 µg per kg body weight per day)
The selenium status measured in whole blood should ideally be between 130 and 150 µg / l
Adolescents and adults: 15-25 mg as e.g. Zinc orotate or as a lozenge zinc acetate (~ 0.25-0.5 mg zinc per kg body weight per day)
During an incipient infection, i.e. from the first symptoms 10 mg zinc 5-6 times a day, e.g. as zinc sulfate or zinc acetate.
The zinc level should ideally be in the medium to high range
