Flounces also enhance the otherwise simplest garment. We'll show you where you can find the most beautiful trend pieces with flounces and how to stylishly combine them in line with the trends.
Opulent as a statement look or restrained as a romantic eye-catcher – flounces leave you free scope for designing your outfits. Depending on what goes best with your personal style, you can integrate items of clothing with the famous ruffles into your looks and make them something very special. We'll show you how to do it.
Flounces and ruffles: what's the difference?
The layman often equates flounces with ruffles. Strictly speaking, they are two different things. There is one thing in which ruffles and flounces differ fundamentally: ruffles are made with a longer fullness, a so-called ruffles, on the upper and Cut bottom. This means that they only gather when they are quilted through an elastic or a double seam on the garment. This creates small wrinkles at the attachment seam – the so-called ruffles.
With flounces, however, the fullness is only open one Page present. The result is that the neckline is straight and flat, while the rest of the fabric falls as a flounce.
In the meantime, the two elements are often no longer precisely distinguished from one another. That is also the reason why many fashion labels often equate ruffles and flounces. So you don't have to be so precise about the name either.

Flounce dress: the eye-catcher for summer
Flounce dresses are our absolute favorite items in summer. Due to the falling cut, they are light and airy and underline the character of the season. Wrap dresses with flounces are particularly popular here. The ruffles are mostly on the lower hem of the models, which is reminiscent of flamenco dresses. Alternatively, there are also dresses with flounced sleeves, which can also be worn on cooler summer days or in the transitional months.
