Hello there 🙂
Susan Feldman is the co-founder of One Kings Lane and In the Groove, a style destination where she shares her antiquated outfits and shopping tips. Feldman is also our resident style expert here at Who What Wear and she's shared everything from the basics she packs for every trip to the style flaws she won't repeat. Today we reached out to her to talk about spring staples – five things she wears repeatedly, to be precise.
Spring has (almost) started, and normally around this time I would be looking for spring trends and looking forward to what to try. This year is obviously different. I'm not even sure what the trends are, but that's who What Wear is for, right? I don't know if they can be called trends, but there are certainly pieces that I keep focusing on. That means sticking to what I'm comfortable with and parts that I know will work for me, with a little twist.
I still buy staples, but the versions I buy for my seasonal refresher have a little more pizzazz. For example, instead of my usual plain t-shirt, I picked up a cheeky graphic t-shirt. Because who couldn't use an extra smile these days? Playing around with proportions and sizes has been a lot of fun again this year, especially when it comes to a more comfortable fit. My white shirts and blazers have all received an oversized, menswear-inspired makeover. I'm even looking forward to shoulder pads again!
The best thing about these three “trends”? They last a lot longer than just one season and work for everyone of all ages.
After a long year of sweat, I'm finally ready for a more polished look. Oversized, shoulder-padded blazers are a perfect transition piece.
Nobody loves a great white t-shirt more than I do. But this spring I needed a little more to be happy. And every time I walk past a mirror in one of those graphic t-shirts, I smile.
The boot cut is back, baby. I like how flattering they are and how easy they are to dress up or down.
After borrowing my husband's shirt over and over again, I thought it was finally time to invest in one of my own. There are so many great oversized white shirt options out there these days, and the runways this season confirm that it is a staple worth obsessing over.
I'll admit I already have a number of slippers in my closet, but given last year, I wanted something that spice up my crotch a bit, and these updates to the classic apartment do the trick.
Next, read about the 3 things I'll be pulling out of my closet in 2021 (and what's left).
