Hello there 🙂
I guarantee you would discover at least one Danish brand if you looked into a fashion editor's wardrobe now (via Zoom, of course). In recent years, the influence of the country on our clothing should not be underestimated. From older brands that have been redesigned to newer designers that have become Instagram favorites, it's hard to ignore the impact this part of Scandinavia has had on the fashion industry. With Copenhagen Fashion Week on the horizon (only in digital form) we've looked at all the brands that we honestly can't get enough of.
We often think that the Scandinavian style is a homogeneous minimalist style, but that's actually not true. While Swedes in Denmark, and especially Copenhagen, are opting for a more minimalist, low-key look, there is a shift towards prints and colors. There are many influencers who prove this as well. From print queen Nnenna Echem to Emili Sindlev, who loves to bring colors into conflict with glitter, there is no shortage of Danes who like to opt for the "out-there" look. It is this eclecticism that has absolutely expressed the latest trend labels coming out of the country. Keep scrolling to take a look at the brands we love and what we'd like to shop.
Where would we be without Ganni? In all honesty, it's hard to imagine what the fashion landscape looked like before it became so ubiquitous. But the fact that it's so popular didn't stop anyone from buying the brand.
Key piece: There are so many to choose from. For a while it was the T-shirts, then the balloon sleeves, then the oversized collared shirts. But maybe it has to be something leopard print for me.
Clothes don't get much more dreamy than those made by Cecilie Bahnsen. The brand has only been around since 2015 but has found a loyal following for its signature oversized stylings.
Key piece: It has to be one of the beautiful dresses. You will feel like a modern Cinderella.
Baum Und Pferdgarten is definitely one of those brands that appeals to a quirky sense of style. From oversized checks to dresses with puff sleeves, you can find something that suits you.
Key piece: If we had to choose, it would have to be checked a little.
Saks Potts coats are some of the funniest and coolest we've seen in a while. While the printed logo buffers are great, it's the lambskin-lined belt coats that we're hot for.
Key piece: Of course the coat with faux fur trim.
If you love bold colors and shiny fabrics, then Stine Goya is for you. Ideal for adding a bold touch to your wardrobe. Here you can get a taste of maximalism without trying too hard.
Key piece: One of the fun, jewel colored dresses or the latest in knitwear that has become an Instagram favorite.
When we're back at parties, be sure to check out Rotate for your next dress. From cool minis to slim midis, there is something for every clothing lover.
Key piece: A bold pink mini dress is what we'd want right now, especially since it's one of the hottest colors of spring / summer 2021.
Not everything has to be about bold colors, prints or silhouettes. Sometimes you also need the basics. And that is exactly what Samsøe & Samsøe offers.
Key piece: There are many options here, but the belted leather jacket is so chic.
