Hello there 🙂
In the world of Instagram fashion and the abundance of content showing up in your feed, it may seem like repeating elements isn't trendy, but I'm here to tell you it isn't . The bar is high because of the way the fashion space is on social media, and I felt like I needed to have a ton of new options every month. In reality this is not the case. If I am spending good money on a piece that I love, why can't I wear it? and post on Instagram again? If members of the royal family like Meghan Markle and the Duchess of Cambridge have worn the same item (and made it visible to the whole world) multiple times, who says you can't?
While social media made me believe that I have to wear a brand new thing every day, I started pushing myself to wear certain pieces in different ways to prove that this idea is wrong. I was surprised at how creative I could get with my wardrobe, and it also made me realize the importance of investing in eclectic pieces over one-off fads.
There are still a lot of fashion girls I catch repeating things on the gram, and I'm 100% here for that. I've reached out to some asking what pieces they wear the most and why they love the item, and they've sent in some examples of how they style the staples in different ways. Whether you're looking for some inspiration for the outfit to wear items back on, or you're looking for versatile staples to add to your wardrobe, keep scrolling.
"One item that I keep turning is a pair of vintage denim. I find that vintage denim suits me best and just looks the coolest and adds a degree of ease to an outfit whether or not I am with a sweatshirt, a nice top or a t-shirt and jacket. I have had this special pair for three years and I know that I will have them as long as they suit me! "- – Jordan Santos, @jordanrisa
"One item that I keep rotating is my oversized black leather blazer from Zara. It's easy to style and I find it difficult not to wear it almost every week. I bought it in the fall and it makes me feel polished and stylish, without having to work too hard. "- – Summer Albarcha, @summeralbarcha
"You just can't go wrong with neutral pants. I live in these. I'm usually someone who loves to invest in pieces that I could use multiple times. I'll style these one day with a sweatshirt and the next with me." a silk button with heels and a trench coat. These pants have no limits! I can only recommend everyone to have a pair in their wardrobe. "- –Nana Agyemang, @itsreallynana
I've started wearing ribbed dresses a lot lately because they're a bit taller than your plain maxi but just as versatile. I can wear the dress as it is, add a vest, layer it, and make a skirt out of it – there are so many options!
