My husband riffs through Reddit every day and I scan Amazon (almost) every day. When I don't read news or stumble upon random things on the Internet, I have an affinity to discover (and shop for) less-known beauty products, and I think we all agree that this is as important as finding a great one Memes. Now I've spent many, many hours trying to find the best items on Amazon, not just for me, but for you too. So you can only imagine that on the way I discovered some good, bad and downright strange things (hello, foot mask) that I recommend 100%. Without further ado, here are 25 weird but useful beauty products on Amazon.
I have had keratosis pilaris for years and am always looking for products and / or tools that can help with this because there is no cure. Basically, it's up to me to exfoliate regularly, and this handy little brush makes it extremely easy to do just that. I use it with a peeling cleaner and I am satisfied with the results!
I feel like people (including myself!) Don't take care of their feet enough. I mean, why would anyone want to? My feet are killing me, especially if they don't get a TLC. That is exactly why I made it my goal last year to take better care of mine. Therefore, buy these peeling masks. They're like little ankle boots that you slip your feet into, and I always pull a pair of socks over them to make sure the mask really does its job. You basically just leave them on for an hour and a half and do whatever you do in the house. Then rinse your feet and you're done. Your feet will be super soft after that, but it will take a few days for your dead skin to actually peel off. Spoiler alert: it's gross and alarming.
Whether you need to remove stray hair along your forehead bone (or anywhere else on your face), remove peach lint, exfoliate your skin, or do all of the above, these touch-up tools are for you. I swear they make me look neat in between appointments.
I wasn't kidding when I said I'm trying to take better care of my feet! I train almost every day and I'm a runner, so my feet saw everything, including calluses. It was always too embarrassing to let someone in my nail salon handle it, so I took matters into my own hands and got this little thing. It honestly looks like a cheese grater, and you basically rub it on the bottom of your feet and it removes all types of roughly dead skin. But it really makes a big difference!
I've already written about this little facial massager (and since the one I bought is currently unavailable, I've added an identical one), but I'm so obsessed with it. After a long day of work and cleaning my skin, I use it and I think the shape and way it vibrates makes my complexion look so much more alive and alert.
As I mentioned before, I exercise almost every day and get pain. I can only ask my husband for so many massages, so I decided to use this strange looking roller to help. Not only does it release muscle tension, the buttons also release firm fascia tissue (also known as cellulite!), Which makes your skin look smoother. It is a win-win situation!
Full disclosure: I don't believe in anti-cellulite oils, creams or the like. But when I bought the massage roller above, Amazon suggested I get it with it, so I did it. My skin looks and feels firmer and firmer when I use it, and it's definitely nicer to use the massage roller with this layer, but it's by no means a life-changing oil. Just something that pleasantly surprised me.
I love a good scrub brush, but let's face it: it's hard to get your back! That's exactly why I bought this towel on a whim and it totally improved my shower game.
Another thing I wrote about earlier is this blackhead removal vacuum. When I first got it, I totally hurt my skin – how really bad – so you have to get used to the different suction and levels before you actually use it on your face like I did. (I suggest practicing on your hand.) But I promise that once you get the hang of it, it's easy to use. It doesn't pull out a lot of garbage for me, but it exfoliates my skin nicely and I like to think that it pulls out all the rough shit that's in my pores.
By now you probably think I only have a foot fetish, but I swear I was just looking for super smooth feet! This cream has brought me so much closer to my goal. I use it after showering and it made a big difference.
Every time I travel I get a kink in the neck or back, so I always have it with me when I leave town. It seriously gets all these hard to reach places and makes the biggest difference. Just make sure you roll on it slowly as some areas are more sensitive than others and you definitely don't want to cause more pain.
Excuse me, I'm getting poetic about my Gua Sha board again. But I'm serious when I say that this is the strangest and probably best buy I've ever made. It increases blood flow, which increases elastin and collagen in my skin, and it also helps with lymphatic drainage. My face looks much raised after five to ten minutes. It actually works: watch this video to see for yourself.
I never knew I needed a scalp massager until my husband bought one and I tried it. Wow, not only does it feel so good, it's also like actually exfoliating and cleaning your scalp (and hair). It also helps strengthen the hair root, so theoretically it can help your hair grow.
I would be lying if I said I wasn't going to buy this because it has 24 carats of gold in its name. I honestly didn't expect much, but this is now one of my favorite leaf masks. After all, pumpkin is a superfood and soothes dry skin, beta-carotene provides a beautiful, moist shine and vitamin A supports skin elasticity. Not to mention that 24-carat gold brightens your complexion. How actually.
I have the Raynaud phenomenon, which is basically a circulatory problem where my hands, feet and legs turn blue or purple when exposed to changes in temperature. I noticed that it also hurt the skin on my thighs and looked almost bumpy – similar to cellulite – and I felt like I needed something to smooth the area. I have a feeling that if you only use it a few times a week it actually makes a little difference. Maybe I'm trying to convince myself that it helps because I want something so badly. If anything, it's a good way to give me a deep massage at the end of the day.
Sometimes I just don't wear lipstick. I prefer a freshly bitten look and have never found a product that gave me one until I came across this K-Beauty lip lacquer. I got a couple of different colors and they all create the perfect velvety finish. It dries almost immediately after application, but doesn't feel weird, sticky, or dry. It's basically weightless and lasts all day.
If you want seriously soft, hydrated skin, use it. That is all that needs to be said.
Years ago I suffered from chronic migraines and bought them to relieve the pain. Not only have I found that it really helps relieve headaches, but the cold is also great for invigorating your skin, especially the eye area! Granted, I've never heated this in the microwave, which is another way to use the mask, but I imagine doing so would be super relaxing too.
Stop everything: if you have long hair or hair that gets tangled up very easily, you need it in your life. I don't know the technical details or any other explanation for why this brush works so damn well, but it works and saves me so much time brushing my wet hair. I don't think I could ever live without it.
Not to numb my own horn or anything, but I've never had a cave and just turned 30. I am sure some of them are good genes, but I am also very diligent when it comes to taking care of my teeth, and I like to think that this little scraper helped keep my teeth as healthy as they are are.
I tried them when I went to Japan and as soon as I got home I had to reorder them because they are so damn good. The strange thing is that the leaf masks are not packed individually – only 10 of them are loose in the packaging. At first I was skeptical that not enough formula would be soaked in every single sheet. But they do it! To be honest, almost a little too much. Sometimes the serum drips over my neck, which is annoying, but other than that, these are just firm sheet masks that moisturize and brighten your skin. Love her!
My teeth are very sensitive and I am always worried that they will whiten professionally. Instead, I buy random things like charcoal toothpaste. I got this before my wedding and was surprised by the results. Activated carbon helps polish, clean, whiten and remove stains on your teeth. Honestly, the only reason I stopped using it was because it was really messy and my sink always went black. I'm lazy and just didn't want to wash my sink twice a day.
This feels more like a balm than a tint (tomato extracts are super moisturizing!), But it gives your pout a super nice, rosy sheen. I just love how it feels on my lips. That's all.
I see hands as well as feet: people don't care enough about them! So I'm telling you that you need these gloves infused with collagen and argan. You put it on for about 20 minutes, and then your hands feel so smooth and look so youthful. I will always have good things to say about it.
It is a dryer! It's a hot brush! It is a flat iron! It's actually all three and life is changing. At first I was totally skeptical, but damn it gives your hair a salon-like blowout and takes less than 20 minutes. (At least with a whole head of wet hair.) I am still shocked by the results when I use it, and many of my employees feel the same way.
Next I am 30 and have found that these 25 beauty products make me look younger.
