Is there a better feeling than finally finding the perfect white t-shirt that makes putting it on so much easier every week? How about the perfect t-shirt, jeans, turtleneck sweater, pants, blazer and much more, all with minimal effort and at the same time? Yes, I know it sounds too good to be true, but after seeing how much prevented our readers from sharing the basic outfits we wear on reps, I figured why we still haven't should go a step further by breaking down the actual parts that we couldn't. I don't live without.
With that in mind, I recently turned to the squad (also known as my co-editors here at Who What Wear) and forced them to do just that. As always, they exceeded my expectations and even forced me to add a few items to my shopping cart. To see, read and shop for all 17 basics that our team keeps wearing, just keep scrolling.
"What can't you wear with a white turtleneck? I love how they look covered in a sweater, button-down, or dress."
"Levi's chest jeans are my absolute favorite, and I currently consider them a basic. They have the figure-hugging fit of a vintage pair of Levis at the top and then the legs flicker out, which feels more up-to-date than a super slim, flitting leg."
Our entire team has been wearing (and talking about) these jeans for a year and a half, and I'm still not over it.
I have this black blazer and I love it because it also serves as a top and is therefore particularly useful. I share the ivory version today because it seems to be exactly what my spring wardrobe needs.
"I've worn these gray pants repeatedly throughout the season. It looks great no matter what you combine it with, and I can't wait to wear tiny tank tops in spring and summer."
"After wearing boots all winter and pretty much alone, I was desperate for a transition shoe that was simple but a little bit exciting. These square-toe lace-up shoes were just what I needed, and the amount, I'm wearing is frankly unsettling. I may have to buy a second pair soon. "
"I really like the New Balance sneaker trend and wear this pair all the time. They are so versatile and don't feel too casual."
"I wear this sweatshirt a couple of times a week. It's light and soft, but still warm. I also love that it's cut short so I never feel sloppy when I wear it."
"Of course Totême would make the perfect black pants. Everything about these is perfect, but especially the fit. Worth every penny."
"One of my current looks is (in my eyes) forward and one of the cheapest bases I live in: white crew socks. Yes, pairing black loafers and white socks is just the thing."
"For my more elegant looks, I always wear slim black trousers for a sophisticated and timeless look."
"I bought this leather trench last year and it has easily become my most worn piece of outerwear. It feels a bit more grown up and tailored than the leather biker jacket I rely on and looks well layered over practically everything Nanushka's version is sold out, but Apparis has a similar vegan. "
"I pretty much live in these Citizens of Humanity pants jeans. The wide leg and high rise make them super flattering, but they're also the most comfortable jeans I own."
"I'm a fool for a great beige blazer. (I have too many in every type of silhouette.) I have worn this chic H&M repeatedly with jeans and tailored items. It looks much more expensive than him." Price tag, and I love the longer, slightly oversized fit. "
"I always rely on a simple white t-shirt to combine with blazers or with jeans and midi skirts. This super affordable t-shirt from Hanes is my first choice. It has a simple and effortless fit and the fabric is of good quality (and not) see-through!). Not bad for $ 7. "
"After wearing all my sweaters to death in the past few months, this knit polo feels like a breath of fresh air and the perfect transition to spring while still feeling like winter. I am so delighted with the details on this one Top the baby ruffle sleeves, the pointelle knit structure and the golden closure. "
"I've been taking a break from my simple blue jeans lately and instead have been wearing this cream pair without a break. I love how the stitching details give them a look inspired by utility."
